Evelyn McBride Schar
Evelyn M. McBride Schar, 85, of Zelienople, formerly of Evans City, passed away Wednesday morning at the home of her son.
Born in Lawrence County, Oct. 8, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Lemuel R. and Catherine McQuiston McBride.
Mrs. Schar was a member of the Harmony-Zelienople United Methodist Church.
Her husband, J. William Schar, preceded her in death Nov. 8, 1976. They had owned and operated Schar's Poultry Farm in Evans City.
She also was preceded in death by a brother.
Surviving are two daughters, Lynn (Ken) Cutway of Greensburg and Cindy (Dale) Hockenberry of East Butler; two sons, Wayne (Pat) Schar of Zelienople and Jay (Terri) Schar of Harmony; nine grandchildren, Dan Schar, Heidi Altman, Brian and Cassidy Selway, Chris and Mindi Hockenberry, Michelle Higgins, Angela Miller and Bill Schar; and nine great-grandchildren.
<B>SCHAR </B>— Friends and relatives of Evelyn M McBride Schar, who died Wednesday, May 27, 2009, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>A. Carl Kinsey-Ronald N. Volz Funeral Home</B>, 114 W. Spring St., Zelienople. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Gail McQueen, her pastor, officiating.
