Douglas C. Carney, 53, of Cranberry Township lost his long battle with cancer Saturday.

He was the beloved husband of Diane (Warman); loving father of Steven, Scott and Stephanie; son of Mary and the late Clyde "Buck" Carney Jr; and brother of Denny (Linda) of Boiling Springs, Pa., and David (Linda) of Saxonburg. He also is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Doug was a wildlife conservation officer and a police officer for Economy borough for almost 30 years. He was extremely active in promoting youth activities, including hunter education and youth field days, and was very involved with sportsmen organizations in Beaver County. Doug was an avid hunter and had a great passion for the outdoors.

<B>CARNEY</B> — Friends of Douglas C. Carney, who died Saturday, May 23, 2009, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at <B>DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME of CRANBERRY</B>, 2678 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Beaver County Sportsmen Conservation League, P.O. Box 141 Beaver, PA 15009.
