Doris Lucille Lukacs

Doris Lucille S. Lukacs, 76, of 530 Butler Pike, Mercer, Findley Township, Mercer County, died suddenly Wednesday at her residence of an apparent heart attack.

Born in Mercer, Dec. 1, 1932, she was the daughter of James Walter Stowe and Bertha Owens Stowe.

She married Stephen Richard Lukacs, Sept. 2, 1950. He died Dec. 10, 2001.

She was a postal worker in Mercer.

Mrs. Lukacs was affiliated with Trinity Presbyterian Church. She was a lifetime member of the Moose and the Red Hat Society. She also was an avid golfer and bowler.

Surviving are four daughters, Vivian and her husband, William Thompson, of Sedro Wooley, Wash., Pamela Como of Grove City, Patricia and her husband, Andrew Knause of Lancaster and Stephanie Bochy of Thomasville, N.C.; a son, Paul Lukacs and his wife, Kathy, of Duluth, Ga.; a sister, Mary Reznor of Naples, Fla.; a brother-in-law, Thomas Adams of Mercer; 14 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Larry Joseph Lukacs; and a sister, Martha Agnes Adams.

<B>LUKACS </B>— Friends of Doris Lucille S. Lukacs, who died Wednesday, May 20, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>Cunningham Funeral Home</B>, 144 S. Pitt St., Mercer. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. William Crooks, pastor of Trinity Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be at the Carpenter Cemetery, Springfield Township. Mercer County.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 3168 E. State St., Hermitage, PA 16148; or to the Mercer Area Library, 143 N. Pitt St., Mercer, PA 16137.
