PITTSBURGH — City officials say the Pittsburgh Penguins Stanley Cup victory parade on June 15 cost the city less money even though it drew more fans than a parade celebrating the Steelers' Super Bowl XLIII win in February.

City officials estimate 375,000 fans turned out for the Penguins parade, which cost the city about $72,600, including regular and overtime pay for police, and Public Works expenses.

The Steelers' parade drew and estimated 350,000 fans to the same route downtown on Feb. 3.

City crews erected a stage at the end of the parade route where players and coaches from both teams addressed fans. City officials say the Steelers parade cost about $79,500.
