James A. 'Chip' Elliott
James Alvin "Chip" Elliott, 59, of Wytheville, Va., died May 8 due to a heart attack.
Jim was a graduate of the Class of 1968 at Butler High School. He was an employee of Radford Arsenal and a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran serving with the 101st Airborne Division.
He was a very loving and caring person who would give his time to help anyone in need. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.
He is survived by a daughter, Cheri Ann Elliott of Sparta, N.C.; his parents, James Victor and Lou Anders Elliott of Wytheville, Va.; a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley Ann and Joe Cavender of Nashville, Tenn.; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Roger M. Elliott of New Castle, Pa., and, Eddie D. and Donna Elliott of Butler; and several nieces and nephews.
<B>Elliott</B> — Funeral services for James Alvin "Chip" Elliott, who died Friday, May 8, 2009, were held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, May 10, at the <B>Grubb Funeral Home Chapel,</B> Wytheville, with Pastor Steve Ridenhour and intern Virgil Cain officiating. A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 11, at the Osborne Family Cemetery in Independence with VFW Post 7726 conducting military rites.Donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
