Geraldine B. Fair, 88, of Chicora died Friday night in Butler Memorial Hospital following an illness.

She was born July 11, 1920, in Chicora, the daughter of the late Albert Shook and the late Bella J. Fennell Shook.

She was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Chicora, where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years.

Surviving are one son, James Fair of Chicora; two grandchildren, Amy Nace and James Fair Jr.; four great-grandchildren, Joshua, Lauren, Katelyn and Kelli; and Laurie and Joanna, who were like daughters.

Preceding in death are her husband, Theodore R. "Art" Fair, whom she married Dec. 5, 1942, and who died June 1, 1991; a twin sister, Irene Fair, who died Nov. 26, 2008; a brother, Albert J. Shook and a daughter-in-law, Mary Fair.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

<B>FAIR</B> — Friends of Geraldine B. Fair, who died Friday, May 15, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>THOMAS M. STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME</B>, 111 E. Slippery Rock St., Chicora. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, 310 E. Slippery Rock St., with the Rev. Mark Wallace, her pastor, officiating.
