Richard A. Green, 66, of Butler died early Wednesday morning at the home of his daughter.

Born May 29, 1942, in Butler, he was a son of Regene T. (Heasley) Green and the late Clifford F. Green.

He was a self-employed construction contractor and was a member of the American Legion Post 117 in Butler and the Konnostones Bowling League.

Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching football and sitting around campfires with his friends.

Surviving are his wife, Evelyn L. (Anderson) Green; two sons, Richard A. (Elida) Green Jr. of Reedly, Calif., and Timothy S. Green of Butler; a daughter, Kimberly A. (Scott) Matson of Butler; four grandchildren, Joshua M. McBride, Morgan K. Green, Trent I. Green and Isabel A. Green; his mother, Regene T. Green of Butler; a sister, Vel Green of Chicora; and his cousin and best friend, Steve Heasley of Butler.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert L. Green, and a sister, Marlene Green.

<B>GREEN </B>— Friends of Richard A. Green, who died Wednesday, May 13, 2009, will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. Funeral services will follow at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Cremation services are provided by Geibel Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Melanoma Research, Butler Unit, P.O.
