More cars vandalized in Butler
Butler police are investigating the latest act of vandalism that targeted nearly a dozen vehicles on the city's east side during the weekend.
Most of the cars and pickups were parked on East Walnut and North Monroe streets. The black spray paint wielding vandal or vandals struck between Saturday night and early Sunday morning.
Police said most of the 11 vehicles were vandalized with a line or "squiggles" painted along the driver's sides.
Of the targeted vehicles, six were on East Walnut Street and two on North Monroe Street. The three other vehicles were on Elm, East Brady and Franklin streets.
The vandalism spree marks the second consecutive weekend in which vehicles were damaged in the city.
Between the night of June 6 and early morning June 7, police said at least six vehicles were vandalized on or near Hickory and South streets on Butler's Southside.
Those vehicles, police said, were vandalized with a white paint marker.
The vehicles were marked with designs including a swastika and derogatory words. Two of the vehicles, officers said, were tagged with the word "Click."
It was not immediately known, police said, if the rash of vandalism during the past two weekends is related. There apparently are no suspects in either case.
