HARRISBURG — Scores of people rallied in the Capitol to support proposals for a universal health-care system.

Pennsylvania AFL-CIO President Bill George was among scores of people who turned out for the rally to advocate a publicly funded system that they say will reduce health-care costs for businesses and taxpayers.

Chuck Pennacchio of the group Health Care for All Pennsylvania says he expects bills to be introduced in the state House and Senate next week. Supporters say universal or single-payer health care will ensure that everybody gets coverage.
