Ray W. Campbell Sr.
Ray W. Campbell Sr., 75, passed away Thursday at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after a short illness in Ohio.
Ray was born Feb. 15, 1934, in Warren, Pa., and was the son of Wendell and Gladys (Ruhlman) Campbell.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957.
Ray retired from Don Barr Inc. as a salesperson and was the owner of Hal's Drive-In in Shelby, Ohio, for more than 13 years.
He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge 272 in Butler. Ray also was a member of the Al Koran Shrine Ancient and the Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Canton and the AMVETS Post 26.
A wonderful grandfather, he enjoyed hunting and car shows. He was especially proud of his 1955 Oldsmobile.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Julia Campbell; three sons, Ray Jr. (Sherry), Robert (Debbie) and Richard (Deloris) Campbell; one daughter, Kimberly Campbell; nine loving granddaughters; one grandson; two great-granddaughters; one great-grandson; one brother, Thomas (Carol) Campbell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
