Philomena Krzeczowsky Sandrovich
Philomena Krzeczowsky Sandrovich, 89, of Prospect, formerly a longtime resident of Scenery Hill, died Thursday in Good Samaritan Hospice of Cabot following a brief illness.
Born June 10, 1919 in Deep Run, Ohio, she was the daughter of Stanley and Angella Gruch Krzeczowsky.
She had been a nurse's aide at the Washington Hospital for more than 11 years and later became a homemaker.
She was a nine-year member of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church of Butler, and before that, she had been a lifelong member of the Ave Maria Roman Catholic Parish of Bentleyville. She also was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the Altar Society, and she enjoyed quilting, gardening and traveling.
She is survived by a son, Frank Sandrovich of Newport Richie, Fla.; a daughter, Patricia Sitarik and her husband, Thomas, of Prospect; a brother, Martin Krzeczowsky of Westerville, Ohio; a sister; Mary Getrew of Canal Winchester, Ohio; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Sandrovich, who died Jan. 3, 1982; a son, Donald Sandrovich, who died Jan. 1, 1995; three brothers, Stanley, Edward and Walter Krzeczowsky; and three sisters, Dorothy Ryan, Carolyn Margo and Valarie Murphy.
<B>SANDROVICH</B> — Friends of Philomena Krzeczowsky Sandrovich, who died Thursday, May 7, 2009, will be received from 1 to 7 p.m. Monday at the <B>GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME</B>, 619 Main St., Bentleyville. Prayers will be said there at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in the Ave Maria Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Gary Krummert as celebrant.
