Anna Freehling of Winfield Township received the Community Service award at a County Rural Life Sunday church service May 3.Freehling joined the Winfield Grange as a young girl and currently is a member of the Jefferson Grange, where she helps with Saturday night card parties, the Big Butler Fair and all other grange activities.She delivered Meals on Wheels until recently and is active in her church, Sunday school class and church activities. She often provides transportation to friends and family going to doctor appointments.Freehling's husband, James, is deceased, and she has three children who live in Jefferson and Winfield townships. She worked on her family farm, a mushroom mine, and drove school buses for the South Butler School District. She belongs to the Easter Star and is a Worthy Matron.
