GREENSBURG — Two women are hospitalized after police and utility crews say they were shocked by a 7,200-volt power line that fell into a yard.

State police are not identifying the women who were injured Tuesday afternoon in Hempfield Township.

Authorities say the women are related and that the second woman was apparently shocked while trying to help the first woman who came into contact with the live power line.

The conditions of the women haven't been released.

PHILADELPHIA — A man described by police as a person of interest in the rape of an 11-year-old girl is in critical condition after being beaten by an angry mob in Philadelphia.Police say about a dozen West Kensington residents pummeled 26-year-old Jose Carrasquillo for several minutes with fists, feet and wooden sticks Tuesday afternoon after they recognized him from a photo distributed by police.Officers then arrived and took him into custody.Lt. Frank Vanore says Carrasquillo was admitted to Temple University Hospital with head injuries.

PITTSBURGH — A man has had surgery after he was run over by a Port Authority of Allegheny County bus he was chasing in Pittsburgh.Port Authority spokesman Jim Ritchie says the accident happened about 11:30 p.m. Monday.Port Authority police say 48-year-old Paul Miller, of Lower Burrell, was running to catch the bus when he fell and was doubled over as the bus ran over him. Police say he suffered serious injuries to his lower body that are not considered life threatening.A UPMC Mercy hospital spokeswoman says Miller remains in critical condition following surgery Tuesday.
