Carothers

Donald Eugene Carothers, 72, of Slippery Rock died Wednesday at his residence.

Born in Cherry Township, July 22, 1936, he was the son of James Carothers and Anna Reeder Carothers.

He retired as an independent truck driver/owner/operator.

He was a Protestant.

Mr. Carothers was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was a NASCAR enthusiast and enjoyed watching football.

Surviving are two daughters, Barbara J. Murphy and her husband, Wetzel, of Harmony and Kimberly J. Shoaf of Slippery Rock.

He was preceded in death by a son, Donald J. Carothers; a brother, James Carothers; and a sister Mary Arner.

<B>CAROTHERS</B> — Visitation for Donald Eugene Carothers, who died Wednesday, April 29, 2009, will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.
