SAXONBURG — The annual Saxonburg Carnival will run June 8 to 13 this year with all the usual crowd-favorite activities.

The pet parade will begin at 7 p.m. June 8, with the water battle starting at 7 p.m. June 9. The Firemen's Parade will be at 6:30 p.m. June 11.

The rides open at 6 p.m. each evening. A matinee time opens at 1 p.m. June 13.

Admission is $15 for a ride pass, but presale ride passes are available for $10 at the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Department office, 210 Horne Ave. Admission of $1 to get in the gate is charged in addition go a ride pass. Gate admission is free June 8.

The Jay Bee Miniature Circus and the Bantam "jeep" are just two of the displays at the Butler County Heritage Center, which has announced June hours. The center will be open from noon to 4 p.m. Fridays during June.Admission is $5 for adults, $2 for ages 5 to 17, and free for children age 5 and younger.The center is at 119 W. New Castle St., just off Main Street.The historic Lowrie/Shaw House at 123 W. Diamond St., home to Walter Lowrie, Butler's only United States senator, will be open from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays with the last tour beginning at 3 p.m. Admission is $3 for adults, $1 for ages 5 to 17, and free for those 5 and younger.Call the Butler County Historical Society at 724-283-8116 for information.

The summer concert series schedule at Butler County Community College is a busy one.Concerts take place in the Succop Theater. PITTSBURGH — The Unseam'd Shakespeare Company presents the regional premiere of "Macbeth 3," a post-apocalyptic gender-bending play for three actors, from June 4 to 20 in the Open Stage Theater, 2835 Smallman St. in the Strip District.Curtain is at 8 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays and at 4 p.m. Sundays.
