Slew of summer trips, programs offered at SRU

Slippery Rock University offers a number of summer programs, such as the Morning Camp Series held at the Aebersold Student Recreation Center.

SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University offers a number of summer events for youth and adults.

Morning Camp SeriesARC Kid's Morning Camp Series are for children ages 8 to 12. They are at the ARC from 8 a.m. to noon.• ARC Kid's Morning Sports Camp, June 15 to 18: Campers participate in a variety of sports including volleyball, kickball, badminton and more.• ARC Kid's Morning Adventure Camp, June 22 to 25: Campers will enjoy wall climbing, kayaking, swimming and hiking at McConnells Mill State Park as well as other activities.• ARC Kid's Fun and Fit Camp, June 29 to July 2: Campers will enjoy a variety of fitness and wellness based activities that promote the benefits and fun of exercise.

Youth caving• Youth Caving Adventure Trip, Casparis Caves, June 16: ages 12 to 17 will spend the day caving, including crawls, decoration, water course and waterfall.• Youth outdoor Adventure/Environmental Education Camp, June 29 to July 2: ages 12 to 17 experience rock climbing, caving, canoeing and a trip to Presque Isle State Park in Erie.• White Water Kayak Camp, July 6 to 9: ages 14 and older will meet from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day to learn the basics in white water paddling.• Sea Kayak Adventure to Lake Erie, June 20: Ages 14 and older will spend the day paddling on sea kayaks along the shore of Lake Erie, ending at Presque Isle State Park.
