Coffee Can Campfire Bread
1 pound bread dough
Butter or margarine
1 small coffee can
1 large coffee can
After breakfast, when the campfire has burned down to coals, coat the inside of a small coffee can with butter and place dough in it.
Cover with foil and set in a warm spot near the fire. Allow to rise until about double in volume, about 30 minutes. Discard foil.
Line the bottom of a large coffee can with an inch of pebbles to prevent burning.
Set the small can in the large one making sure sides do not touch. Insert the large can into coals, burying about two inches of the bottom.
Cover with foil and poke a few holes for ventilation.
Let bake for 20 to 30 minutes or until brown.
