SAN ANGELO, Texas — Slippery Rock University's women's 4x400 meter relay team broke the school record and earned All-America honors with a seventh-place finish Saturday night at the NCAA Division II Track and Field Championships.
The Rock foursome of Tiffany Tedesco, Amanda Seigworth, Allison Smith and Freeport graduate Lacey Cochran ran a 3:44.83 in the finals.
No SRU women's relay team had gained All-America honors during the outdoor season since 1982.
SLIPPERY ROCK — Grove City's varsity baseball team won its third District 10 title in five years Monday night, scoring six times in the eighth inning to defeat Cathedral Prep, 12-6, at Critchfield Park.Torrance Smith, a freshman, walked to begin the eighth inning and scored the game-winning run.Jesse Revesz, a sophomore, pitched 2 2/3 innings of relief for the win. PHOENIX — Boxer Mike Tyson's 4-year-old daughter is on life support after she was found with her neck caught in a cord of a treadmill machine, police said.Exodus Tyson's 7-year-old brother found her on a treadmill with her neck in the cord that dangles from the console of the exercise machine at their Phoenix home, police Sgt. Andy Hill said, calling it a "tragic accident."
