Dewayne D. Day
Dewayne D. Day, 89, of Rochester, N.Y., died Sunday at the Sunset House.
Born June 27, 1919, in Hilliards, he was the son of the late Albert Day and Frances Stevens Day.
Mr. Day was a retired director of environmental health for Monroe County, a founding principal of Day Engineering P.C., and a life member of the Professional Engineering Society, the American Waterworks Association and the Water Environmental Association.
He was a graduate of Penn State University and was a World War II Army veteran and a member of American Legion Post 137.
Mr. Day is survived by his wife, Pauline Day; one son, David Day and his wife, Donna; one daughter, Elaine Seitz and her husband, Norman; one daughter-in-law, Marilyn Day; one sister, Ruth Reed; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he also was preceded in death by one son, Ronald, and one daughter, Debra.
<B>DAY </B> Services for Dewayne D. Day, who died Sunday, April 19, 2009, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum of Butler County Memorial Park. The Rev. Dr. Robert Peterson, of St. John's Reformed Church, will officiate. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sunset House, 3746 St. Paul Blvd., Rochester, NY 14617 or to the American Cancer Society, 1400 N.
