SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock Middle School eighth-grader Forrest Christman won the 190-pound division of the National High School Coaches Association Tournament recently at North East High School.
Christmann pinned Austin Christie of Titusville in the semifinals and Alex Jensen of Buffalo, N.Y., in the finals.
Christmann has 30 wins on the season.
FEASTERVILLE — Will Nesbitt of Center Township won a boys 16-under outdoor clay court tennis tournament last weekend in Feasterville. It was Nesbittt's first tennis on clay in nearly a year.He defeated Ryan Collins 6-2, 6-0, Thomas Vernier 6-2, 6-0, Jake Poliskin 6-1, 6-0 and Bee Callihan 6-3, 6-2.
NEW CASTLE — Joe Boros and Travis Dickson of the Treesdale Golf and Country Club combined for a birdie on the first hole of sudden death to capture the Adams Golf/Cutter & Buck Pro-Pro championship at New Castle Country Club Monday.Boros and Dickson as well as Ned Weaver and John Aber of the New Castle Country Club and Allegheny Country Club, respectively, each fired a 71 in the first round and 66 in the second round to force a playoff.Rob McClellan of Butler Country Club teamed with Kevin Shields of Rolling Hills Country Club to tie for eighth place (72-67-139).
