Karly Kaufman homered and Meghan Cratty tripled, but the A-C Valley softball team fell to Redbank Valley 9-6 Saturday afternoon.

Kaufman struck out four and didn't issue a walk in the circle, but six errors hurt her effort. Only two of the nine Redbank runs were earned.

Several Slippery Rock High school track and field athletes had good showings at the Baldwin Invitational Friday night.Senior Angie Shaffer placed second in the high jump with an effort of 5 feet, 2 inches. Shaffer was also fourth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.49 seconds.Elissa McCune was fifth in the 300 hurdles (47.03, Halie Sefton fifth in the pole vault (10 feet), Brea Northcott sixth in the discus (116-5) and Casey Dudek seventh in he 1,600-meter run (5:31.72).Isaac Osborne was third in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.43 to pace the boys.Ethan Geisler placed sixth in the 300 hurdles (40.7) and David Caldwell was sixth in the pole vault (13-6).
