PITTSBURGH - Pittsburgh police say they charged a man with theft after he dressed as a firefighter and solicited donations for three police officers killed in a shootout.

Police also charged 26-year-old Michael Howard Stebler, no known address, with false impersonation. Police say he collected money in the Stanton Heights neighborhood where officers Eric Kelly, Paul Sciullo II and Stephen Mayhle were killed April 4.

A sergeant spotted and questioned Stebler Saturday.
