Gremlins blank Falcons in KSAC win

Eric McCue had three hits to pace the Karns City baseball team to a 4-0 KSAC victory over A-C Valley Monday.

Derek Sadowski earned the win with four shutout innings for the Gremlins, who used a three-run fifth inning to pull away.

In other games:

• Knoch scored two runs in the fifth inning to break a scoreless tie, but Ambridge answered with a four-spot in the home half of the inning and made it stand in a 4-2 Section 1-AAA victory.

• Mars' bid for a comeback fell short when, after plating one run in the top of the seventh against New Castle, pinch-hitter James Fox's soft liner to third base with the bases loaded closed out the game in a 3-2 Red Hurricanes win.

• Garrett Herald had two home runs and five RBI to power Grove City to a 9-5 victory over Fort LeBoeuf.

Moniteau cruised to a 12-2 victory over Venango Catholic in a KSAC contest.
