Thomas J. Workman, 80, of Dunmore, Lackawanna County, and a former resident of Butler, died Saturday in AseraCare Hospice at Midvalley Hospital, Peckville, Lackawanna County, following an illness.

He and his wife, the former Hazel Eury, would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary March 27, 2009.

Born in Oil City, he was the son of the late Earl and Georgia Walley Workman. He was a Presbyterian.

He was a graduate of Karns City High School and was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Prior to his retirement in 1988, he was employed by Armco Steel in Butler for 30 years.

Also surviving are a son, Thomas Earl Workman and his wife, Ruthann, of Ambridge; two daughters, Nancy Burk and her husband, Thomas, of Hypoluxo, Fla., and Kathleen Ann Miraglia and her husband, Stanley, of Peckville; four grandchildren, Tanya and Michelle Maslar and Jonathan and Andrea Workman; a brother, Ronald Sandrock of North Carolina; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Marie Weiser; and a brother, John Sandrock.

<B>WORKMAN</B> — Private funeral services for Thomas J Workman, who died Saturday, March 21, 2009, will be conducted at the convenience of the family.Arrangements are by the Thomas J Golden Funeral Home, Dunmore.
