Darrell Alfred Morrow
Darrell Alfred Morrow, 81, of Butler died at 8:27 a.m. Friday at his home.
Born Sept. 24, 1927, in Concord Township, he was the son of the late Herbert Matthew Morrow and the late Violet Lorraine Black Morrow.
Darrell was a supervisor of the finishing department at the Castle Rubber Co. in East Butler where he worked for more than 20 years.
He was a member of The First English Lutheran Church in Butler, where he served on the church council, sang in the choir, helped with many community outreach programs and enjoyed serving as an usher.
Darrell was a gardener, who enjoyed fishing and golfing. He was an avid sports fan of all the Pittsburgh teams.
He especially enjoyed volunteering at the Muddy Creek Oil Field. He was known as a gentle, hard working man, a good friend and neighbor. His faith, family and friends were very important to him. He was loved by many and will be sadly missed.
Darrell is survived by his wife, Jean E. Mellott Morrow, whom he married June, 7, 1952; two sons, Daniel G. and his wife, Sue Mould Morrow, and Roger L. and his wife, Karen Vero Morrow, all of Butler; a daughter, Debra S. Morrow Zarnick and her husband, Thomas L. Zarnick Jr. of Cranberry Township; six grandchildren, Laurie Morrow O'Rourke and her husband, John O'Rourke, of Cranberry Township and David A. Morrow of Butler, Tommy Zarnick III and Courtney Zarnick, both of Cranberry Township, and Benjamin Morrow and Sara Morrow, both of Butler; two sisters, Donna Hutchison of Saxonburg and Rachel Linamen of Bruin; two brothers, Joseph Morrow of Chicora and Quay Morrow of Karns City; two sisters-in-law, Joanne Morrow of Butler and Pat Morrow of Erie; and by several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Morrow was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert H. Morrow and Richard L. Morrow, and by his beloved grandson, William "Wil" Matthew Morrow.
<B>MORROW — </B>Friends of Darrell Alfred Morrow, who died Friday, March 20, 2009, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME,</B> 124 E. North St., Butler. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First English Lutheran Church with the Rev. James W. Dollhopf, pastor, officiating.
