Michael Hank was awarded the Army Achievement Medal for participating in Operation Iraqi Freedom.Hank received the medal for his service as a joint network node operator and maintainer.Hank is regularly assigned to the 556th Signal Company at Schofield Barracks, Wahaiwa, Hawaii. The specialist has served for two years.He also was named the 2nd Stryker Brigade Warrior of the Week.His expertise in manning the Mounted Battle Command on the Move System for 40 days enabled the brigade commander to conduct more than 35 missions.Hank is the son of David and Varity J. Hirtz of Butler.He is a 2003 graduate of Butler High School.
