Dorothy J. Began

Began

Dorothy J. Began, 85, of Zelienople, formerly of Boardman, Ohio, died peacefully Tuesday at the Passavant Retirement Community, Zelienople.

Born Aug. 24, 1923, in Youngstown, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Eleanor (Gibbons) Brown.

Mrs. Began was a former member of Mannerchoir, the Bears Club and the South Optimist Club, all in Youngstown. She also was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Ladies Auxiliary.

Mrs. Began enjoyed bowling, traveling and dancing. Later in life, she began golfing and scored a hole-in-one.

She is survived by her beloved daughter, Janet R. Began-Reder and her husband, Joseph, of Zelienople.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Clement V. Began, who died Sept. 2, 2008; and a brother, Robert Brown.

<B>BEGAN</B> — There will be no visitation. Services for Dorothy J. Began, who died Tuesday, March 3, 2009, are private.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson's Disease Association, 420 E.
