H. Eugene Johnston
Howard "Eugene" Johnston, 89, of Butler passed away at 3:25 a.m. Thursday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born June 27, 1919, in Evans City, the son of the late Joseph Everett Johnston and the late Lacetta (Ehrman) Johnston.
Eugene was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church.
He retired from Butler County Ford in 1982 after 40 years.
He enjoyed reading and solving crossword puzzles. He also was a Mr. Fixit for friends and neighbors.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Timothy (Cheryl) Grosick of Evans City and Mrs. Robert (Cathy) Dunwoody of Fairfax, Va.; three grandchildren, Timothy M. Grosick of Evans City, Steven Grosick of Stockdale and Lori Grosick of Pittsburgh; two great-grandchildren, Trevor Grosick and Piper Grosick; two sisters, Vivian Michaels of Genoa, Ohio, and Betty Dowell of Rossford, Ohio; and a brother, Robert Johnston of Las Vegas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, A. Ruth (Keller) Johnston, who died May 14, 2004; two sisters; and two brothers.
<B>JOHNSTON</B> — Friends of Howard "Eugene" Johnston, who died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Pascoe of Albert Gallatin Hospice officiating.
