For six years, NexTier Bank has provided student leaders with a perspective on how businesses and their role in the community are related. This is done via its Junior Bank Board, a group of student leaders representing Butler County high schools.

With community members and their leader, Jennifer Roxbury, NexTier COO, the junior board meets during the school year and completes a culminating outreach project each spring that connects community service and the business world. Last year, the student board collected funds from the community, bought shoes, and gave them to children at the Mt. Chestnut Head Start.

Students on this board are Kimberly Stickney and Matthew Ewing, both of Butler High School; Kayla Finney of Mars High School; Ethan Danner and Kristen Cully, both of Knoch High School; Rachel Cashdollar and Alex Turner, both of Seneca Valley High School; Samantha Bly and Kayce Grimm, both of Karns City High School; and Will Cassidy and Sarah Cessar, both of Slippery Rock High School.
