His Kids Christian School
Opportunities abound for students at His Kids Christian School to learn about the importance of volunteerism in their community.
Students make regular contributions to the Summit Church food bank, following a monthly theme. For example, in November, students and their families contributed holiday fixings while December targeted breakfast foods.
Each month students are encouraged to donate a nonperishable item to the food bank on the day of their library class. In that way, “Books and Food Bank Day” helps families to remember to send in an item for the food bank when returning books.
Students also have learned the importance of serving others by writing letters and collecting items for troops overseas. Students have participated in the Toys for Tots and Hop-a-Thon campaigns.
In the past, along with the Summit Presbyterian Church youth group, students raised money to buy cows to help families in other countries become more self-sufficient through Heifer International.
His Kids Christian School, 650 Saxonburg Road, Butler, offers classes for children from preschool through Grade 6. His Kids Christian School is a ministry of Summit Presbyterian Church.
