Care Chiropractic Center

This year marks Dr. Stuart Surkosky and Care Chiropractic Center’s 10th anniversary sponsoring Kids Day in the Butler community.

It also marks the 15th year since the Kids Day inception by Drs. Stuart and Theresa Warner. The event serves more than 2,000 communities internationally with almost 3,000,000 children and their families enjoying the day’s festivities.

This event, like our children, has literally grown up in the Butler community. Our first Kids Day event occurred in conjunction with Honda’s Safety Day, formerly held at Country Motors.

Also instrumental in the development of the event was the Butler Safety Council’s Safety Day Parade, held on Main Street in Butler. Over the years, it has progressed from 100 people in attendance to last year’s record-breaking 2,500 folks enjoying the day.

“Special thanks” are in order to the Butler Farm Show board members who in the past several years have seen our need to expand and permitted our use of the Farm Show Grounds.

Past recipients of the Kids Day event proceeds have included the Children’s Wellness Foundation, Make-A-Wish, Butler County Against Heroin/Candle Inc., the Victim Outreach Intervention Center (VOICe), Community Care Connections (formerly United Cerebral Palsy), the Special Kids Zone at Alameda sponsored by the Butler Am Rotary, the YWCA children’s programs and Lifesteps of Butler.

This year’s recipient is the Dunbar Community Center. Its mission is to promote the mental, moral, spiritual and physical welfare of all members of the community, which parallels the objectives that Kids Day represents.

According to Dr. Stu, “It is truly a community service event which includes assistance from a wonderful volunteer base that is unsurpassed and through our conscientious community which values the future health and prosperity of our children.”

Every effort and contribution is valued to realize our mission.

We hope you can join us as we distribute information and empower our youth on crime prevention, healthy lifestyles, child safety and environmental awareness issues.

This year’s event is set for Saturday, May 16 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. rain or shine. There is no cost to enter or park for the event, which is at the Butler Farm Show on Route 68.

There will be food, a basket auction and special drawings throughout the day.
