NEW CASTLE — An 11-year-old boy accused of killing his father's pregnant fiancee is expected in court for a preliminary hearing.

Prosecutors say Jordan Brown shot 26-year-old Kenzie Marie Houk in the back of the head while she slept in their Wampum farmhouse on Feb. 20. Houk's unborn son also died.

The hearing is this afternoon at Lawrence County courthouse. Brown is charged as an adult with homicide. Brown's attorney wants the case moved to juvenile court. If convicted as an adult, Brown would face life in prison.

Authorities say Brown went downstairs with two guns but returned upstairs after Houk's daughter saw him. They believe Brown then hid a gun in a blanket and went back downstairs to shoot Houk.
