Maxine L. Stevenson
Maxine L. Stevenson, 65, of Chicora passed away at 3:50 a.m. Saturday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after an illness.
She was born June 18, 1943, in Butler, the daughter of the late Oscar Eugene Brewster and the late Maxine (Phipps) Brewster.
She was a retired administrative assistant to the public relations and voluntary service departments at the Oakland Veterans Affairs Hospital for 33 years. She also had worked at Sheetz and volunteered at the Butler Public Library.
Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Noble (Jean) Miller of Slippery Rock, Mrs. Larry (Linda) Wolfe of Butler and Mrs. Timothy (Terry) George of Evans City; four nieces; a nephew; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Laurie F. Stevenson, who died May 10, 1993; and a sister, Betty Thompson.
<B>STEVENSON</B> — Friends of Maxine L. Stevenson, who died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor David Maitland of First Baptist Church officiating.
