Larry Chalmers Miller, 64, of Butler died peacefully Wednesday at home with his family by his side following an extended illness.

He was born April 7, 1944, in Butler, a son of the late Raymond Chalmers Miller and the late Anna Marte Chalmers Miller.

Larry farmed for numerous years while working at the Pullman Standard Car Co. and also the Butler Sanitation Co. Following the closure of Pullman Standard, he was employed at NAPCO.

Mr. Miller was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard.

He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman.

His wife, Mary L. Miller, survives him. Also surviving are three daughters, Judy Rice Kradel, Pam Miller Marburger and Lisa Miller Hoffman; three sons, Raymond Todd Miller, Larry "Tink" Rice and Rick Rice; a brother, Dennis Miller and his wife, Becky Miller; and a sister, Donna Miller Pollick and her husband, Steve Pollick. Sixteen grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive him.

A son, Wade L. Rice; and four grandchildren preceded him in death.

<B>MILLER </B>—<B> </B>Friends of Larry Chalmers Miller, who died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Martin Young, interim pastor of Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, officiating. Final arrangements are being completed by the funeral home.Memorial donations may be made to the family, c/o Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E.
