Robert E. "Big Daddy" Lynn, 75, formerly of Lake Arthur Estates, Portersville, died Monday evening at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born March 10, 1933, in Ellwood City, he was a son of the late Chester E. and Lena A. (Owery) Lynn.

He had worked as a coil roller for the Armco Steel plant in the hot mill for 27 years until his retirement.

He had loved making and repairing all types of clocks and had enjoyed train sets.

A veteran of the Korean War, he had served in the U.S. Army.

Surviving are three daughters, Becky (Robert) Johnson of Butler, Barbara Sutton of West Sunbury and Sherri Lynn and Gary Swaigart of Lyndora; a son, Robert M. (Dawna) Lynn of Prospect; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

His wife, Carol A. (Fair) Lynn, whom he married Oct. 16, 1955, died Jan. 28, 1978. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Lynn; two brothers, Raymond and Stanley; and a sister, Ella Jean.

<B>Lynn </B>—<B> </B>Friends of Robert E. "Big Daddy" Lynn, who died Monday, Feb. 9, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. Matthew Perkins, pastor of New Beginnings Free Methodist Church, will officiate. Inurnment will take place in Butler County Memorial Park. Cremation Services provided by Geibel Funeral Home.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
