Gary Lawrence Beatty Sr. of LaRue, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 3 after a short battle with cancer.

Gary was born in Butler, Nov. 3, 1950, to the late William G. and Ruth E. (Mentzer) Beatty.

Gary graduated from Butler High School in 1968 before moving to Marion, Ohio. There he met and married Ruth (Fassler) Beatty, Jan. 10, 1970.

Gary was the father of Gary Beatty Jr., Nancie, Michael and Laura Beatty, all of Ohio; and one granddaughter.

Also surviving are five sisters, Deborah Hoke of Meridian, Sharon Moore of Chicora and Linda Nolte, Vivian Warheit and Brenda McGuire, all of Butler
