Helen Relihan
Helen (Mlodzik) Relihan, 94, died Wednesday at the Saxony Health Center in Saxonburg.
She was born Jan. 14, 1915, on a farm in Princeton, Wis., to Frank and Verna Schultz Mlodzik. She was the oldest of eight children.
She was married for 28 years to John F. Relihan, who died Dec. 3, 1968.
She lived in Mars for many years and was a devout Catholic at St. Kilian Roman Catholic Church.
After her husband's death, she became employed by the St. John Lutheran Home in Mars. She was the head baker, where her famous scratch cookies were a favorite to all the residents and fellow employees.
Surviving are two children, Frank D. (Janet) Relihan of Penn Township and Joann (George) Winter of Pittsburgh; five grandchildren, James (Denise) Relihan, Jason Relihan, Shannon (Shane) McGraw, Justin (Hollie) Relihan and John (Susan) Relihan; eight great-grandchildren, Kyrstin, Seth, Mackenzie, Hattie, Kelsea, Connor, Johnny and Jaycee; and one sister, Mary Ann Draeger of Pittsburgh.
Deceased, in addition to her husband, is one son, John J. Relihan, who died Dec. 5, 1996.
<B>RELIHAN</B> — A Mass of Christian burial for Helen (Mlodzik) Relihan, who died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Kilian Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Charles Bober as celebrant and the Rev. John Rebel as co-celebrant. Everyone please meet at the church.
