Helen Kepple Buckley

Helen Kepple Buckley, 95, of Sugar Creek Rest at Worthington, formerly of Parker, passed away Sunday evening at the home following a lengthy illness.

Born Sept. 4, 1913, in Sugarcreek Township, Armstrong County, she was the daughter of the late George Plummer and Sadie Bowser Kepple.

Following high school, she graduated from Pittsburgh Beauty Academy. She then established the Helen Kepple Beauty Shoppe in Parker in 1934 and continued that operation until retirement in 2000.

Helen was baptized and a lifelong member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, now the St. Paul's Community Church, near Kepple's Corners, Chicora. She also attended the Parker United Methodist Church while a longtime resident of Parker.

Her main hobby was tending to her many flower gardens across the street from her shop along River Avenue in Parker.

Surviving are one brother, Fred P. Kepple of Van Wert, Ohio; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Eugene "Jim" Buckley, who passed in 1967. She also was preceded in death by three brothers, Stanley, Chancey and Frank Kepple.

<B>BUCKLEY</B> — Friends of Helen Kepple Buckley, who died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009, will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at <B>H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, Inc.</B>, Wayne Street, Parker, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the St. Paul's Community Church, near Kepple's Corners, Chicora. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Randell Forester, church pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, adjacent to the church.Information also is available at www.buzardfuneralhomes.com.
