Fred F. Turnblacer
Fred F. Turnblacer, 84, of Butler and Cranberry Township died Wednesday in the comfort of his home in Butler.
Born Dec. 19, 1924, in Carnegie, he was the son of Fred F. and Gertrude (Joyce) Turnblacer.
The youngest of six children, Fred was raised in Butler, lived in Shadyside for several years after World War II, and moved back to the Butler area in the 1960s.
A World War II veteran, Fred was a pioneer in real estate and was instrumental in the development of Cranberry Township.
Fred opened Turnblacer Realty on Route 8 in Gibsonia in the early 1960s and continued to branch out with offices in Kittanning and Cranberry during the next 15 years. He sold his company and opened Signature Realty and Development in the 1980s, which he operated with his son Charles until his last days. His true passion was developing property across Pennsylvania.
He was the loving husband for 64 years of Sallee L. (Renner) Turnblacer, whom he married April 7, 1944; the beloved father of Melissa Bream of St. Louis, Mo., and Charles Turnblacer of Penn Township; the brother of Nina Dillon of Butler; and the dear grandfather of Spencer, Trey, Beau, and Cole Turnblacer.
He was preceded in death by a son, the late Fred F. Turnblacer, Jr.
