Robert E. King
Robert E. King, 63, of Kittanning, formerly of Bradys Bend, died Tuesday at UPMC Shadyside.
He was born April 13, 1945, in East Brady, Armstrong County, to Joseph L. and Ruth A. (Snow) King.
Mr. King was a member of the St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Kittanning.
He was employed at Sonneborn in Petrolia for 43 years as a chief hydro plant operator.
Bob was a member of the Kittanning Eagles and the Elks and was a Ward 3 councilman for many years.
During his involvement with IAMAW Union Local 2430, he served as union president, vice president and recording secretary.
He was a sergeant in the Army National Guard.
Bob and Colleen traveled extensively throughout the southeast United States and made many memories of their camping experiences with their family.
Bob was fond of sports, especially watching his son play amateur hockey. He took pleasure in coaching midget football for the East Brady Bulldogs for years, even when his children and grandchildren were not participating. He also coached baseball and girls softball.
Bob was a devoted father, beloved husband, adored grandfather and everybody's friend.
He is survived by his wife, Colleen King, whom he married July 14, 1977; five sons, Roger King and his wife, Patty, of Bruin, Scott King and his wife, Cindy, of Parker, Allen Zang of Adkins, Texas, and Jeremy and Hunter King, both of Kittanning; one daughter, Jessica Smith and her husband, Bill, of Kittanning; 11 grandchildren, Keighlene King, Trevor Haley, Alyssa King, Keaton King, Haley Smith, Katlyn Smith, Billie Smith, Collyn Zang, Dakota King, RJ Smith and Spencer Smith; three brothers, Michael J. King and his wife, Barb, of Karns City, James H. King and his wife, Mary, of Kittanning and Rodney F. King of Karns City; and a sister, Joni K. Steiner and her husband, Dusty, of Cowansville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter-in-law, Lisa Zang.

McKean St., Kittanning, where an Elks service will take place at 7:30 p.m. Friday.A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Mary Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Kittanning, with the Rev.
