Butler sophomore Cole Baxter is the No. 1 seed at 145 pounds in this week's WPIALClass AAA wrestling tournament.

Baxter (37-0) will face the winner of the pigtail match between Trinity freshman Brandon Lesko (14-13) and Waynesburg sophomore Alex Teagarden (22-13).

The Golden Tornado have 12 wrestlers in the WPIALfield. Seneca Valley has four and Knoch has one.

Seven of Butler's WPIALqualifiers are wrestling pigtail matches Thursday.

Seneca Valley 140-pound junior Nate Cully (25-4) wrestles the winner of a pigtail match as well:Hopewell's Ryan Carson (25-10) or Franklin Regional's Chris Little (17-20).

Baxter and North Allegheny 130-pounder Joe Waltko (33-1) are the only top-seeded wrestlers out of Section 3.

Canon-McMillan High School is hosting the three-day tournament, which begins at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Bouts continue at 6 p.m. Friday and 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
