Miller, Gaither
Barbara Miller and Thomas Gaither were united in marriage May 30 at Christ United Methodist Church in Chapel Hill, N.C. The Rev. Hannah McManus officiated. A reception followed at the Fearrington Inn.
The bride is the daughter of Frazier and Phyllis Miller of Bluefield, Va. Parents of the bridegroom are Thomas and Diane Gaither of Prospect.
The honor attendant was Tracy Paine of Richmond, Va. Beth Miller of Bluefield served as bridesmaid. Flower girls were Gracie Miller of Bluefield and Kerrigan Gaither of Melbourne, Australia.
Performing the duties of best man was Edmund Gaither of Melbourne. Usher was Frazier "Buddy" Miller Jr. of Bluefield. Ring bearers were Trey and Tyler Miller of Bluefield.
The bride is a 1994 graduate of Bluefield High School and a 1998 graduate of West Virginia University. She received her master's degree in 2003 from West Virginia University and her Ph.D. in 2006 from the University of North Carolina. She works for Elon University in Elon, N.C.
The bridegroom graduated in 1988 from Slippery Rock High School and in 1993 from the University of Pittsburgh. He received his master of fine arts degree in 2000 from the University if Pittsburgh and his Ph.D. in 2004 from the University of North Carolina. He also works for Elon University.
The couple are making their home in Gibsonville, N.C.
