Three Butler County high school basketball teams will be in playoff action this week:

• The Moniteau girls (17-6) will play Kane (17-5) at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Clarion High School in the District 9 Class AA semifinals.

• The Seneca Valley boys (16-7) will take on Peters Township (21-2) at 8 p.m. Wednesday at North Allegheny HighSchool in the WPIAL Quad-A semifinals.

• The Slippery Rock girls (17-6) will battle General McLane (21-1) at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Sharon HighSchool in the District 10 Class AAA semifinals.

Slippery Rock eighth-grader Forrest Christmann placed second in the 2009 Northwest Junior High School Wrestling Tournament at 185 pounds last week.Christman pinned undefeated Devin Dolan of Franklin in the semifinals before losing to defending state champion Jake Johnson of Eisenhower by a 7-2 decision.Christman will compete in the state tournament March 14th.

Goalie Clay Bachman recorded three shutouts in four games as the Pittsburgh Huskies Pee Wee AA hockey team won the Chautauqua County Youth Hockey Association Mid-Winter Classic tournament in Jamestown, N.Y., over the weekend.Bachman, a Butler native, recorded 59 saves in 62 chances in the tournament.Troy Double, also of Butler, led the team with six goals in the tournament.

INDIANAPOLIS — Colts president Bill Polian told reporters Sunday at the NFL's annual scouting combine that the team was trying to rework Marvin Harrison's deal to lower the receiver's salary cap number from approximately $13.4 million, the highest number of any wideout in the NFL.But a person familiar with the negotiations, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the team has not made an announcement, later told The Associated Press that Harrison "probably would not be interested in" reducing his base salary.If Harrison decides against a redoing his contract, the only other options for the Colts would be to keep Harrison at his cap number or to release him.

PHOENIX — The Boston Celtics say forward Kevin Garnett will miss two to three weeks because of a strained muscle behind his knee.Garnett returned Friday to Boston after injuring the knee on the team's West Coast trip.
