Shawn and Darcy McGuirk

Darcy Buys and Shawn McGuirk were united in marriage Dec. 6 at the bride's parents' home in Lynden, Wash. The Rev. Ron Vanderwerff officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Don and Leona Buys of Lynden. Parents of the bridegroom are Rick and Rhonda McGuirk of Harmony.

The bride is a 1999 graduate of Bellingham Technical School, where she studied culinary arts. She works as a manager at the Bellingham Technical School's bakery co-op.

The bridegroom graduated in 1992 from Seneca Valley High School and in 1997 from Slippery Rock University. He also works for the Bellingham Technical School co-op.

Following a honeymoon trip to Japan, the couple are making their home in Madrona St. Bellingham, Wash.
