Sparks fly in Kean Theatre comedy
GIBSONIA — "Chapter Two," a comedy by Neil Simon, will open Friday at the Kean Theatre at St. Barnabas' Washington Place, 5847 Meridian Road.
The play that had been previously scheduled, "Blithe Spirit," had to be changed because it's being staged on Broadway.
"Chapter Two" is a semi-autobiographical comedy in which George has lost his wife to cancer and his brother Leo is trying to help him by setting him up with a date. Enter Jennie, who is just getting through a divorce. The two meet and sparks fly.
The Tony Award-winning play and an Academy Award-nominated film relates the true story of Simon and wife Marsha Mason.
The Kean cast includes Casey Bowser and Heidi Nicholls, the married team from Center Township, playing the roles of Leo and Faye.
The play will be performed at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and Feb. 13 and 14 with a matinee at 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $22 for general admission or $29 for director's circle seating. Matinee seating is available for $20 or $26. For information, call 724-444-5326.
