"The Music of Ireland," a new concert series at BCCC, continues with The McDades, Canada's recent Juno Award-winning artists who perform in a fast-paced, upbeat style, in concert at 8 p.m. Feb. 13 in the Succop Theater.

• The Vanaver Caravan music and dance company will perform a tribute to American folk music legend Woody Guthrie on Friday in Slippery Rock University's Miller Auditorium. The group called "Pastures of Plenty" will explore the late composer's life and music in a manner reminiscent of an old-time tent revival or back porch sing-along."Pastures of Plenty" is the third show in SRU's Performing Arts Series.Tickets are $18 for adults, $16 for those 62 or older or 17 and younger, and $8 for SRU students. Call 724-738-2091.• SRU's Outdoor Adventures program at the Robert N. Aebersold Student Recreation Center will offer a one-day program in "Kayak for Kids" on Saturday. Sessions will be divided by school grade levels. The 8:30 to 10 a.m. session is for those in grades one to six; the 10 to 11:30 a.m. session is for those in grades seven to 12. Recreation center members are admitted free; nonmembers pay $5. Registration is required in advance. Call 724-738-2883 for details.• SRU's Black History Month celebration will feature the Chosen Generation Gospel Choir in a Gospel Fest at 7 p.m. Saturday in the Advanced Science and Technology Hall.The month will be peppered with films, including the screening of "The Lost Boys of Sudan" at 7:15 p.m. tonight in Bailey Library. Gabriel Ajang, a 2007 SRU graduate, was one of the boys who wandered the Sudan to escape violence in his nation's civil war."Rosewood" will be shown at 1 p.m. Saturday in the library, and "Dream Girls" will be shown at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the University Union.

The Regina Gouger Miller Gallery hosts ""Signs of Change: Social Movement Cultures 1960s to Now" through March 8. Admission to the gallery in the Purnell Center for the Arts on campus is free.
