Two theater companies have scheduled auditions for shows.

Butler Musical Theatre Guild will have auditions for the its spring production of "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum." at 2:30 p.m. Sunday and at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the MTG production center in Butler Memorial Park.

Roles are available for actors ages 17 to 70. There are two female principals, with a total of eight female parts to be filled, as well as 10 parts for males. Also needed are six female dancers ages 16 to 30.

This play is billed as Broadway's greatest farce; it is light, fast-paced, witty, irreverent and funny. The show will go on at 8 p.m. April 18 and at 3 and 8 p.m. April 19 at the Succop Theater on the Butler County Community College campus.

At the New Castle Playhouse, auditions for the comedy "Lend Me a Tenor" have been scheduled for 6 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 15 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 16 at the annex theatre. An adult cast is needed for the show planned for May 8 to 24. Call 724-657-9369 for more information.
