IN BRIEF

FINDLAY, Ohio — Ben Roethlisberger's second trip to the Super Bowl with Pittsburgh isn't turning out to be as profitable for sports stores in his northwest Ohio hometown.

Merchants say racks are still full of Steelers jerseys, hats and shirts.

Roethlisberger grew up in Findlay and played in college at Miami of Ohio.

He led Pittsburgh to a Super Bowl victory in his second NFL season in 2006 and converted a lot of Cleveland Browns fans into Steelers backers.

Fans in Findlay bought anything with Roethlisberger's name or face three years ago.

But not this time around.

Gaslight Gifts owner Jim Marckel blames the economy and says most people in Findlay already have their Steelers stuff.

CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Mark Whipple has been hired as Miami's new offensive coordinator.Whipple helped Ben Roethlisberger win his first Super Bowl with the Steelers and coached Massachusetts to a Division I-AA national championship in 1998.
