NEW CASTLE — Authorities released the names of a woman and her 4-year-old niece who died in a fire that destroyed their home in New Castle.

Firefighters said they found Dawn Tray, 35, and Josalyn Barnes, 4, huddled together on the floor of a second-floor bedroom. Both were pronounced dead on arrival at Jameson Hospital in New Castle.

The fire broke out just after 3 p.m. Monday. The house was destroyed, and the flames destroyed another nearby home.
