Betty I. Hranica
Betty I. Hranica, 84, of 260 Ekastown Road, Sarver, Buffalo Township, died at 5 a.m. Sunday at UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh, following a brief illness.
Born Sept. 21, 1924, in Springdale, she was a daughter of the late Chambers C. and Vella LaVerne (Bortz) McCracken.
She had lived in Buffalo Township for 52 years.
She was a homemaker and had been a bookkeeper at Hranica's Auto Service for 50 years.
She was a member of the St. Joseph Parish, Natrona.
She graduated from Bell Township High School in 1943. She enjoyed cooking and reading and was an avid Steelers fan. She was devoted to her family, children and grandchildren.
Surviving are her sons, Edward P. (Donna) Hranica of Buffalo Township and Michael D. (Helen) Hranica of Buffalo Township; a daughter, Susan M. (Thomas) Garretson of Boiling Springs; and grandchildren, Jackie and Julie Hranica and Michael and Eric Garretson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Hranica, who died in 1997; a brother, Richard McCracken; and a sister, Margaret McCracken.

Hranica, who died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the <B>DUSTER FUNERAL HOME</B>, 10th Avenue at Corbet Street, Tarentum, 724-224-1526. A Christian funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Ladislaus Church, Natrona. Burial will be in Mt.
